Tidal Thames preparation

We're trying to make sure that we're as prepared as possible for our trip through central London on the Tidal Thames.  So we've downloaded the upstream edition of the Tideway Handbook which has been printed out, laminated, and put in a level arch file.  This is a tip we've picked up from Sue and Richard on Indigo Dream.

The handbook has a guide to all the bridges, complete with a diagram showing where the channel is and which arch to go through.

The file also contains my ships licence and my VHF operator's certificate, so everything is in one place.

What a brilliant idea, must remember to do that ourselves. Thanks

I am really looking forward to reading about your trip. We did exactly the same ring on a hireboat at the beginning of July and the tidal Thames bit was definitely the highlight.... and yes we printed out the Tideway Handbook as well. It is amazingly detailed. I hope all goes well and that the Oxford has water in it! Have a great time!
